Boundary changes opposed

A campaign has been launched against proposed boundary changes in the Moorlands.

The Boundary Commission has given the go-ahead for two new parish wards – at Birchall and Leekbrook.

It means Leek will be split into six wards, each with two council members, instead of the current four wards with three members each.

But town councillors are concerned the move will confuse voters.

They’re to ask Moorlands MP Karen Bradley to raise the issue in Parliament and force the Boundary Commission to review the decision.
