A Moorlands author has self-published his seventh book.
Le Telephone is the latest book by Henry May who lives in Leek and tells the story of ex-city financier Desmond Harper who takes early retirement and moves to a period cottage in rural Herefordshire, attached to which is a mature cider apple orchard
Encouraged by a curmudgeonly ex-shepherd, Old Sam Williams, into making cider the traditional way, Desmond sources equipment in rural France where he happens to purchase a 1930’s telephone from the French equivalent of a car boot sale.
Although the instrument is obviously totally dysfunctional it nevertheless rings – causing consternation and upheaval to what should have been a gentle and idyllic lifestyle.
Le Telephone is available to purchase online through the Amazon website, priced at £9.99.
