Comments

  1. Welcome to the Saturday Breakfast Show

Moorlands Saturday Breakfast brings you two of everything: two presenters, Tony Mullins and Mervyn Gamage; Local news and national news; local sport and national sport; the front and back pages of the days papers; music new and old; What's Ons for Saturday and Sunday; and the Take Two feature, with the same song by two artists. And of course there are your mention, or Shabbas as we call them, and news from the world of showbiz. Plus more chat than a chatty old chat show. Twice the fun, twice the trouble, every Saturday from 7am.

  2. Interview

It was great talking to you on the show, Mervyn. First time i've been interviewed by a Rapper. Great show by the way I try to get to it every Saturday.

    Take care

    Richard Frankland

  3. Fabulous new artist featured on Saturday Breakfast

Hi gang, since we played this lady on the show before, and over Christmas, we have had lots of calls and e-mails asking who she is. She's called Harriet - and we think she's amazing! We've already played her lots on the show, and will continue to.

Here is one of her videos. You'd be forgiven for thinking that she sounds a little like Karen Carpenter - she writes too! A real talent. Enjoy.

More to come on Saturday Breakfast from Moorlands Radio! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aM4B1N-TE3o

  4. Celebrating the Togmeister

This Saturday we'll be celebrating a broadcasting legend as we remember Terry Wogan, who died last Sunday. As well as our memories we want to hear yours (give us a call or post them as comments on our Facebook page). We'll have music from some of the artists we'd never have heard of without him (and one we feel sure he'd have adopted if he'd still been on the radio today). And our special guest is Alan "The Voice of the Balls" Dedicoat, who worked alongside him for 15 years. Plus all the usual features too. A packed show from 7 till 10.

  5. End of an era and a new beginning

In 2009 we had the privilege of launching Moorlands Radio at 7 seconds past 3 minute past 10, yes 1037, from our studios at Stockwell Villas.

Tomorrow, Saturday 16th April, again just after 10, Gary Dunn and the team will broadcasting from our brand new studios at the Community Fire Station in Leek.

And we will sign off with the last programme from our old home.

So join us from 7 till 10 for three hours of nostalgia before we close the doors for the last time.

    Mervyn & Tony

  6. To be or not to be?

"To be or not to be, that is the question?" Well on the four hundredth anniversary of Shakespeare's death we'll definitely "be" on the radio between 7 and 10 for the Moorlands Radio Saturday Breakfast Show. And it's St George's Day too, so watch out dragons because we're well armed with "shabbas" and we're not afraid to use the. To claim yours just like the post on our Facebook page. And comment there too, to tell us about your favourite Shakespeare play, quote or experience. Of if that's too posh just tell us about your favourite George! Now then where's Romeo Mullins gone? Oh I see, off with Juliet again.
