  1. St Margaret's Summer Fayre, Highfield Farm Uttoxeter Road Draycott-in-the-Moors, ST11 9AE

Hello, Could I ask for the details of our Summer Fayre to be put on your Events list. This year is our 25th in the sequence and has proved to be a big attraction in this area. It started out as a fundraiser for our 13th century village church,  St Margaret’s Church, all those years ago and still fulfils that task admirably. Every year we have a huge collection of classic vehicles, a fair that the children love, our Country Craft Village, a Tea Shop, bar and barbecue. For entertainment for our visitors in the Main Ring this year we have a popular Dog Show, always lots of entries for that, children’s sports. The Joliba Drums will be training youngsters to play a range of drums, finishing with a massed demonstration of drumming with their trainees and if the children present want a different kind of participation Y Ddraig Vikings will be training a troupe of children in the mysteries of Viking Battle skills. In or near the Marquee for entertainment we have the Coverdale Puppets who illustrate bible stories in their own way, viewing  the Youtube clips shows they are very entertaining, in the Main Ring we have the Staffordshire Youth Jazz Orchestra, not to be missed a really professional exuberant troupe of musicians. Moorlands Radio are broadcasting their Roadshow this year from our Main Ring, with presenter, Matt Hill, there has been a lot of local interest with the Roadshow and we are expecting many more Fayre visitors this year, partly with the 25th anniversary, but mostly with the Roadshow spreading the word further than we normally reach.  As with previous years up to school leaving age children come into the Fayre free! Car parking is also free and adult entry is £5 per person, a great day of entertainment! Thank you in advance for any help that you can offer for spreading the word for our Fayre. Potteries Omnibus Preservation Society, POPS, are running a classic bus on a route all day that takes in the villages of Tean, Cresswell, Blythe Bridge and Draycott. This, we hope, will help our Fayre visitors come to the Fayre without the hassle of using their cars. POPS will not be charging a fare but ask for contributions to help keep these wonderful vehicles in running order. Regards, John Clarke, Organiser. Telephone, 01782 396190.
