Officers name man who sadly died in Draycott RTC

A man has died following a road traffic collision in Draycott, near to Blythe Bridge.

At around 5.15pm on Friday 11 January 2019, police were called to reports of a collision involving a red Kawasaki motorcycle and a grey Audi A5 outside the Chandni Cottage restaurant heading towards the A50.

Emergency services attended and the rider was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital where Martin Barker, 50, from Stoke-on-Trent sadly died on Saturday morning (12 January) from his injuries.

Specialist officers are supporting the man’s family at this time and have asked for privacy at this difficult time.

PC Matt Lovatt, from the Staffordshire and West Midlands Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This is well-used road and I would ask motorists who may have dash cam footage or witnessed the collision to contact us.”

Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the collision or who saw the vehicles beforehand to contact them on 101 quoting incident 474 of 11 January 2019.
