Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision which occurred in a Moorlands village earlier this month.

The road traffic collision took place at 4.50pm on Sunday, May 12 in Tean, and involved a blue and chrome Harley Davidson motorcycle and a black Ford Galaxy.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: “It is believed that the motorcycle was travelling along Hollington Road in Tean towards Hollington when it was in collision with the Ford Galaxy which was emerging from the junction of Great Wood Road.

“A 69-year-old local man was riding the motorcycle.

“He suffered serious leg injuries and was taken by air ambulance from the scene and remains in hospital.”

Police constable Rich Darby, of Staffordshire and West Midlands Serious Collision Investigation Unit, added: “It is possible that there are a number of witnesses to this collision who have not yet come forward.

“I am particularly interested in speaking with anyone who was travelling along Hollington Road in Tean and may have seen the collision or the vehicles beforehand.”

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 543 of May 12 or email ciu@staffordshire.pnn.police.uk
