Residents across Staffordshire are being urged to think about fostering.

Staffordshire County Council’s Fostering and Adoption department is hosting an information event to encourage new foster parents to come forward.

A spokesman for the department said: “You could make a difference by fostering a Staffordshire child.

“Foster with us and help to keep a local child local, where they’ve got a better chance for a better future.

“If you foster with us you can be sure that everything we do is always for the benefit of the child. We never make a profit from our service.

“Our fostering is flexible. With so many options we are confident you’ll find one which suits your family commitments and personal circumstances.

Foster with us and you’ll receive outstanding practical and social support to help your foster child flourish and realise their potential.”

As part of the national Foster Care Fortnight, the county council are hosting an event, focusing on all things fostering, at Costa Coffee in Queens Retail Park, Stafford on Friday, May 24 from 10am until 2pm.

To book a place at the event, or for further information about fostering in Staffordshire, call 0800 169 2061, email fosteringandadoptionbus@staffordshire.gov.uk or visit www.care4child.org.
