Moorlands Radio is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit radio station. We always need a helping hand with programmes, production, administration and all the other tasks that go into the running of a busy local radio station. In particular, there are two roles we are looking to fill in the near future.
Biddulph Victoria reporter
Are you a fanatical fan of the Biddulph Vics? Want to hear more about your team on Moorlands Radio?
You can make it happen — we're looking for the Vics' number one fan to take on the role of reporting from the team's matches for our Saturday afternoon show Talking Sport.
You'll be reporting live from Tunstall Road, providing the Moorlands with team news, goal updates and that all-important final score.
Local history specialist
One of the most popular features here on Moorlands Radio is our unique afternoon look back at the history of our area.
To keep the Old News Diary looking fresh, we need local history enthusiasts in Leek, Biddulph and Cheadle to tell us all about bygone happenings in their areas.
The role will involve browsing local newspaper archives and picking out interesting stories, people and other titbits such as adverts which will bring our listeners' memories flooding back.
You'll need to write a short précis of each day's stories and supply them to our presenters.
For more information or to express an interest in either of the roles above, or to find out more about other volunteering opportunities here at 103.7 Moorlands Radio, send an email to Verity Hilton, Station Manager: manager@moorlandsradio.co.uk
