Dates Announced for Changes to Food and Garden Waste Collections

With Councils across England now required to collect food waste each week, the District Council has announced that preparations are underway to commence this service in the Moorlands at the end of June when residents will need to present any food waste separately from garden waste. Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service have appointed a new Deputy Chief Fire Officer (DCFO) following a rigorous selection process. Michelle Hickmott has been appointed as DCFO and will take up her new role in June, when Chief Fire Officer Rob Barber retires from the service and current DCFO Glynn Luznyj takes his post. Cheadle Driver Jailed for Dangerous Driving

A woman, who hit 80mph on a 60mph road in Cheadle before crashing, has been jailed. Faye Dawson, 50, from Cheadle, was sentenced to one-year-and-two-months in prison at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court recently, after pleading guilty to dangerous driving at a previous hearing. She was also disqualified from driving for four years-and-seven months. It happened on Friday 7 March last year when Dawson lost control of the Vauxhall Corsa she was driving on Delphouse Road. They Saved His Life – Now He’s Back to Say Thank You

A cardiac arrest survivor has been reunited with the emergency ambulance crew who helped save his life. The reunion, which took place at Stoke ambulance hub on Sunday 29th March, was a powerful reminder of the importance of early CPR and public access defibrillators.
