Majority of Staffs Parents Offered Top Choice of Primary School

The majority of parents in Staffordshire will find out today (April 16) that they have been allocated their first-choice primary school. Nearly 95 per cent of parents will find out that they have been allocated a place at their top preferred primary school, with more than 99 per cent being offered one of their top three. Reminder Not to Burn Waste Following Increase in Incidents

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue are reminding residents to avoid burning household and garden waste after we attended several controlled burns recently. Crews were called at 5.50pm on Sunday (12 April), to a home in the Garmelow area of Stafford following reports of a controlled burn which had spread to a fence. Dates Announced for Changes to Food and Garden Waste Collections

With Councils across England now required to collect food waste each week, the District Council has announced that preparations are underway to commence this service in the Moorlands at the end of June when residents will need to present any food waste separately from garden waste. Cheadle Driver Jailed for Dangerous Driving

A woman, who hit 80mph on a 60mph road in Cheadle before crashing, has been jailed. Faye Dawson, 50, from Cheadle, was sentenced to one-year-and-two-months in prison at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court recently, after pleading guilty to dangerous driving at a previous hearing.
