Carol chats to Simon Drakeford, Director of the Stoke Book Festival happening in Stoke-on-Trent from October 3rd to the 10th.

Stoke book festival is an exciting new venture in the city aiming to put Stoke on the literary map as it hosts a huge variety of writers and activities linked to celebrating all things creative and inspiring.  Workshops, performances and community events will delight readers and artists both local and national this October in celebration of the written word, learning and culture.

Launching in Stoke Minster, the festival aims to encourage wide participation across the city to build engagement and confidence in conjunction with libraries, schools, businesses and communities.  The week long festival has something for everyone interested in the joy of books and it aims to break down barriers to participation and access by making literature take centre stage in a host of wonderful events in the heart of the Potteries.
