Carol chats to Michael Fair, Director and Actor at the Rep Theatre in Stoke-on-Trent about the new season starting this month and in particularly, the thrilling opening production of The Ghost Train.
Michael explains how the play was written by the Dad’s Army veteran actor Arnold Ridley, who played the much loved character Godfrey in the iconic TV series. Ridley wrote the play in 1923 and it is a story of a group of mismatched travellers who are stranded for the night in a remote isolated station.
It is a play which will have audiences sitting on the edge of their seats as they witness the interplay between a terrifying legend, sharp wit and unexpected happenings.
The Ghost Train provides a wonderful opening production for a season which stretches into 2026 with other gems such as It’s A wonderful Life, The Importance of Being Earnest, The Safari Party and To Have and To Hold, all gloriously on offer at the newly refurbished local theatre and all waiting to be enjoyed by anyone who enjoys a great night out in the heart of the Potteries.
